Dignity and respect. I know you appreciate these two important qualities of good people. You have enough stress, I know, but if I can emphasize to you.

Sorry to hear your situation. Hopefully your great vision and ability shall carry you through with some good advice and strategy, to show your ultimate innocence.

Hopefully, you have helped yourself and your family with this trip. But pls do remember also, as a Chinese community leader, you carry the opportunity and duty of the dignity and respect of the Chinese peoples of Toronto, Canada, China and the world.

I admired always that you were conscious of your role as a community leader, not just to Chinese locally, but to Chinese peoples in China and everywhere.

Early pioneers to Canada, like my parents and many others worked hard to both make a honest, good life in Canada for themselves; to give back to the Canadian society that welcomed them; but also to fight the racism against the Chinese peoples, the sick man of Asia images.

In these modern times, you may be persecuted because of Chinese animus. That is still a question that we are exploring. But I hope you shall fight on, to maintain your dignity and that of all Chinese peoples, all ethnic peoples, of Canada, China and the world.

I hope that you shall do your best to uphold the dignity and respect of the Chinese peoples in the eyes of the people of Canada, China and the world.
